Isa 60:2 - For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen upon you.
How tragic to miss out on God's purposes. Make no mistake it happens. It happened to the first generation of Exodus Israelites. God had a purpose, He had a vision for His people. His heart was for them to possess their Promised Land. They balked in unbelief and as a result they "missed it". The opportunity was presented to them, however, God's purposes require faith. They require agreement with God's prophetic vision and they require obedience. God's not in the business of forcing His best.
Heb 4:2 - For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard. Will we hear? Will we listen with sincerity to the heart beat of our God today?
Mary and Martha found themselves staring death in the face. Everything about their situation screamed out, "dead end". Without Christ that's exactly what it was. Jesus had other plans though. Plans that required them to believe. Jn. 11:40- ... "Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?" The challenge they faced in there day was no more severe that what we face today. Does God want a glorious church? Is it His divine purpose that the New Covenant Church accurately represent Christ on earth? Is the Church the spiritual body of Christ? Has God poured out the Holy Spirit upon the Church? Is Jesus the same today as He's ever been? Is Jesus still the Head over all things to His Church?
Aren't things supposed to just get worse and worse in the world? There are two tracks running in this old world. Darkness and Light. Let's not forget they're distinctives. Let's not forget who really calls the shots. The Church can experience much more today. Jesus said He'd build His Church and the powers of darkness would not conquer it.
Isa 60:2 - For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the
peoples; but the LORD will arise upon you, and His glory will be seen upon you.
Rom 12:11 - Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord. (Amp)
